MKMVA pledges “unequivocal support for Zuma against captured NPA and judiciary”

The Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) has vowed to unequivocally, support former President Jacob Zuma “in his ongoing battles against narrow, factional political attacks and the abuse by a captured National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and judiciary”.

The organization made this commitment after a delegation of its National Working Committee (NWC), together with the leadership of MKMVA in KwaZulu-Natal, visited Zuma on Friday at his residence in Nkandla.

MKMVA said the visit took place in accordance with a resolution of an extended MKMVA National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, that was held on 20 August.

“The MKMVA delegation can report that we found President Jacob Zuma in good spirits, despite the ongoing persecution that he sadly suffers at the hands of some of his own so-called comrades in the ANC, and a politically biased and captured judiciary.”

“We once again stood astounded by the strength and commitment of Nxamalala to continue the struggle for full justice – also economic justice for the majority of black and especially African South Africans – despite all the attacks and personal humiliation that he continues to be subjected to.”

The MKMVA delegation was” privileged to have been afforded ample time for in-depth discussions by President Zuma. The meeting was a true political tour de force of over seven hours of in-depth analytical discussion and analysis. We once again were deeply impressed by the unsurpassed depth of the historical and political analysis that President Zuma so generously shared with our delegation.”

“There is truly no replacement for lived experience, and in President, we have a fountain of wisdom. It is sad that there are those among the current NEC leadership of the ANC who, for selfish factional political reasons, deprive themselves, and even try to deprive our nation, of this wisdom and the great contribution that President Zuma is still able, and prepared, to make to regain the revolutionary heart of the African National Congress, and to ensure that the ANC will once again become the leader of society.”

“During our discussions, the MKMVA delegation acknowledged this important role that President Zuma must continue to play in the ANC and the overall political future, and quest for social-economic justice, in our country. The delegation re-iterated MKMVA’s unequivocal support for President Zuma in his ongoing battles against narrow, factional, political attacks and the abuse of a captured National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and judiciary.”

“Our outrage must once again be registered that after a life of selfless sacrifice in service of the liberation of our people, and unwavering loyalty to the African National Congress, in particular, there are those wayward ANC leaders who in the most callous and ungrateful manner target and persecute President Zuma. Such despicable and cowardly conduct must certainly not go unchallenged, nor unpunished.”

“Those who conduct themselves in this appalling manner will be well advised to remember that the political wheel always turns and that their short-sighted factional political triumphalism, based on all too fleeting temporary political power, will not serve them, nor our nation well. We are well aware that these so-called leaders when subjected to the seminal ANC document about leadership, ‘Through the Eye of the Needle’, will not even remotely pass the requirements.”

The MKMVA said its delegation briefed Zuma about the ongoing full and legal existence of MKMVA, and its programme of action that is being implemented throughout the country, in all nine provinces.

“President Zuma responded in detail and with great understanding and wisdom to our programme of action, and was as usual able to enrich the programme with his understanding of the current political juncture that we find ourselves in.”

“MKMVA is deeply grateful for Nxamalala’s ongoing guidance and leadership. President Zuma was central in the formation of MKMVA, and that umbilical cord will never be cut. We will continue to sit at the feet of our Patron in Chief, and we will continue to give our unwavering support and defend him. Zuma is us, and we are Zuma!”
