ANC rape accused councillor murder case withdrawn after docket vanished

Controversial ANC councillor and child rapist, Tebogo Sepale

A murder docket concerning the controversial ANC councillor and child rape accused, Tebogo Sepale, was allegedly stolen from the court in December 2021, shortly after Sepale’s appearance for the murder charge, Action Society said on Thursday.

As a result, the 2021 murder charge was provisionally withdrawn because SAPS had no docket duplicate.

Sepale, an ANC ward councillor from Matlosane in the North West Province, sent 15-year-old boys pictures of his genitals and engaged them in sexual acts, caught on video earlier this month.

Since his arrest, other men and women have reportedly spoken out about Sepale’s abuse of power when employing people.

“We have sent a formal letter to the provincial commissioner of police in North West to enquire about the steps taken after the murder docket went missing,” said Ian Cameron, Director of Community Safety at Action Society.

“We will not let this man literally get away with murder or allow him to abuse children again.”

Sepale’s case is set to continue on Friday.
