Africa News 24-7 understands that the Hawks are at Housing Development Agency (HDA) offices in Johannesburg to arrest officials implicated in R2.4m temporary tin shelter settlement in Limpopo.
Yesterday, a businesswoman and HDA official were arrested in connection with the project which built 40 tin shelters at a cost of R2.4m. The project triggered widespread outrage because of its cost and poor workmanship.
The businesswoman, the owner of the company who built a “Covid-19 shack settlement in Talana outside Tzaneen in Limpopo and the HDA official are due to appear in court soon.
Africa News 24-7 understands that the pair will be joined by HDA officials who were members of the bid evaluation committee (BEC).
